Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 July 2026

About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the StudyOS platform, including any associated websites, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Mass Diplomacy Pty Ltd (ABN 94 041 858 660), an Australian company trading as StudyOS ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained your parent or guardian's consent. By using the Service you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at contact@massdiplomacy.au if you suspect unauthorised access. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep your account details up to date. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Upload, post, or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, or infringes any third party's intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its underlying systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from the Service without our prior written consent.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion.

User content

You retain ownership of any content you create or upload to the Service ("User Content"), such as the sources you add to your workspaces and the notes you make. You must only upload material you have the right to use — your own notes, or content you are licensed to study from. By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process that content solely to provide and improve the Service, including generating your study material. We will not sell your User Content to third parties or share your materials with other users. You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have all necessary rights to submit it.

Generated material

Flashcards, quizzes, glossary terms, concept maps, and study plans are generated automatically by the Learning Engine from your content. They are study aids, not authoritative advice — always verify important facts against your source material.

Intellectual property

All content on the Service that is not User Content — including the platform design, software, logos, text, and graphics created by us — is owned by or licensed to Mass Diplomacy Pty Ltd and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes rights you cannot waive under applicable Australian law.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Australian law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or AUD $100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss or damage, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.

Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party tools including Supabase, Postmark, and OpenAI. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.

Fair use of AI

The Service includes AI-powered features such as an AI tutor, content generation tools, and automated feedback. These features are designed to support and enhance your learning experience, not to replace critical thinking, genuine effort, or human judgement. You agree to use AI features responsibly and in good faith. In particular, you must not:

  • Submit AI-generated responses as your own original work where your organisation, institution, or course explicitly prohibits this.
  • Use AI features to harass, deceive, or harm other users or third parties.
  • Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or exploit AI systems within the Service to produce harmful, offensive, or misleading content.
  • Use AI-generated outputs to circumvent assessments, qualifications, or compliance requirements in a dishonest manner.
  • Rely solely on AI-generated content for decisions with significant personal, professional, or legal consequences without independent verification.

AI-generated content on the Service is produced by third-party language models and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. We do not warrant the accuracy of AI outputs and encourage you to apply your own judgement when using them. We reserve the right to restrict or disable AI features for any user who misuses them or whose use poses a risk to other users, third parties, or the integrity of the Service.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us at contact@massdiplomacy.au. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service poses a risk to other users or to us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days’ notice by email or via a platform notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
